Yun-Nan, The Link between India and the Yangtze
Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 1909. First Printing. Hardcover. Large 8vo, publisher's dark sea-green cloth, gilt spine, very good but lacking large map in pocket at rear; minor wear to binding, light restoration to inner hinges, ownership signature on flyleaf of Professor Ba Nyunt, 1954, then at London University (he would return to Myanmar and become an important faculty member at Yangon University), and his signature also on title page. Endpapers with a few small ink spots and some tanning. Text a bit tanned and light occasional foxing, has six folding vocabulary tables at rear pocket. 431 pp, plates throughout. Author was an English officer who led expeditions through the Chinese province of Yunnan to discover possible routes for a railway connecting British-occupied Burma with the upper Yangtze and Sichuan, so this would have been a special book in Nyunt's library. Good. Item #H30654
