A series of articles that Gottanelli, a chemical engineer and fairly well known Alpin mountaineer, wrote on various topics of interest to him, including mountain climbing, northern Italy (the title refers to the Castello de Belagaio in rural northern Italy south of Florence), the birth of the synthetic rubber industry, etc. The author published other volumes detailing his mountain climbing experiences, which took place mainly in the earlier part of the century.
