1851-1852 Hollidaysburg legal document with handwritten survey notebook from 1794-1795

Hollidaysburg, PA: 1851. 1851 handwritten legal document for a dispute involving the Cassidy family with the top part written by Jacob Cresswell, atty for the plaintiffs, and Peter Cassidy attesting that a book of field notes of sundry surveys in Bedford County are almost all in the handwriting of his brother Henry Cassidy excepting an entry by Thomas McKean on the 29th page and a receipt dated 1801 on p. 12 and that remarks made on the first page are in Henry Cassidy's hand, and that the notes were made pursuant to an agreement between George Woods, Jr., then the deputy surveyor of Bedford County and Patrick Cassidy, father of Henry Cassidy, that Henry would execute surveys or warrants by doing fieldwork with his father to do the tabling and drafting. The survey book measures 6.5 x 4 inches, and is attached by red wax seals to the larger sheet. Quite a bit of wear and rumpling, but intact and readable. We're not sure what the legal dispute was, but the presence of a notebook of original survey notes from Bedford County is a real bonus. Fair. Item #H33117
