Richmond, VA: P. D. Bernard, 1839-1840. Hardcover. 8vo, in early half red leather and drab boards, good with general moderate wear, soil, rubbing and light stains to covers, contents good to very good, light foxing, owner's namestamp on endpaper and handwritten names a few times in the text. RARE, OCLC locates only 2 copies, both in Virginia libraries. This seems to have lasted only the one year in Richmond, and may have moved to Columbus, Ohio after that. Early southern journal devoted to the interests of the IOOF which was still in its infancy in America. Much on Virginia lodges and history. The name of the editor and the printer are not given, nor even the location; all this was gleaned either from Worldcat or from a contemporary review of this journal found in the Southern Literary Messenger, which we accessed online. Good. Item #H33318
