12 original postcard sized photos of 1918 WWI Victory Parade in Washington DC
Washington DC: 1918. 6 x 4 inches, 12 photos, captioned in the place in white as well as on the versos more extensively in ink. Includes scenes of the parade in Washington DC including Pennsylvania Ave., Riggs Bank, and various notables such as General Pershing. The gun and crew of the 6th US Field Artillery, which fired the first American shot of the war, is pictured, troops marching under the Victory Arch, various vehicles and trucks, a wonderful overhead view looking down Pennsylvania Ave. from the top of the US Treasury Building, the "Baby Yanks" mounted 37mm guns. The photos are by "H. & W. Photos" but we don't know if that's an actual photo studio or not. Nice group of photos! Very good. Item #H33744
