Hebrew edition of the Yoma tractate from the Mishnah and Babylonian Talmud, 1833

Folio, 15.5 x 10.25 inches, disbound -- lacking covers, with recent black paper strip over spine which has supplied some solidity and allows one to read this easily. Probably around 200 pp. "Yoma" is the fifth tractate of Seder Moed ('Order of Festivals') of the Mishnah and of the Talmud. It is concerned mainly with the laws or halacha of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur, on which Jews atone for their sins from the previous year. It consists of eight chapters and has a Gemara ('Completion') from both the Jerusalem Talmud and the Babylonian Talmud. This edition contains both Yoma and the supplemental section. This edition is rare in the trade and we couldn't locate any copies using Worldcat in any institution. Nor could we find any copy of the Yoma or its alternative spelling Yuma published between 1800 and 1850 for sale online. Good. Item #H35584
