A Selection of Cases on the Law of Torts

Cambridge: Published by the Editor, 1917. First Printing. Hardcover. First of the Roscoe Pound edition. 9.5 x 6.25 inches, old dark red cloth stamped in gilt on spine, good copy with ownership signature of a St. Louis attorney, William J. Gavigan, some notes on endpapers, text interleaved with extensive bound-in sheets of notes, probably by Gavigan, and some of the cases printed within have underlining and notes, marginalia, etc. in ink and pencil. 1025 pp. Very uncommon in the trade. Pound was a well known law professor and legal scholar who became increasingly conservative, especially during FDR's second term, to the point of expressing some affection for Adolph Hitler.
