Water Paintings of Henry Miller, translation of Japanese review from 1955
NP: No publisher listed, (1955). 14 x 8.25 inches, broadsheet with reproductions of Miller paintings in bluetone at top, good plus condition with light rumpling and short tear to top edge, some tanning to lower 2.5 inches of sheet. Reprints review of Miller's watercolor paintings first published in a Japanese journal, Geijutsu-Shincho, in 1955. We can find no copies of this in any institution, nor in any published bibliography: Shifreen's bibliography of secondary sources lists the original Japanese publication (E1066) on the occasion of the exhibit of these paintings at the Bridgestone Museum in Tokyo, but no listing for this separate publication. It also appears in the Philip Peatman collection (see the Online Archive of California), but details unclear if it's the same publication as this. The translation into English is by Shigeo Kitano.
