Film installations: Anthony McCall, Paul Sharits, Bill Lundberg, Al Wong, inscribed by Sharits (1987)
Akron: Emily Davis Gallery at the University of Akron, 1987. First Printing. Wraps. 11 x 8.5 inches, softcover, very good, light wear, some gentle crease marks to front cover and first pages. Inscribed "To Bruce -- Light, Paul" next to Paul Sharits' name -- from the collection of Bruce Goldstein, an emeritus professor of psychology whose specialty was perception and who developed an interest in experimental film as a result. This is for an exhibition that was at the gallery of the University of Akron, January 22 to March 12, 1987. The catalog is quite rare and OCLC locates only seven copies in libraries worldwide. Sharits (1943-93) was a visual artist, best known for his work in experimental, or avant-garde filmmaking, particularly what became known as the structural film movement, along with other artists such as Tony Conrad, Hollis Frampton, and Michael Snow. Very good. Item #H38513
