The Parlor Annual and Christian Family Casket 1846 (13 colored floral plates)

New York: J. E. D. Comstock, 1846. Hardcover. Published 1846, half leather, marbled boards, good copy with wear and rubbing to leather, some light straining and cracking to front joint, front flyleaf neatly removed, contents very good with expected foxing throughout and occasional tide mark from old dampstain, with 13 hand colored plates, 12 of which are floral, and as many black and white engraved plates, scenes, fashion, women, etc. After having read the title and the first page of 'Death of Howard, His Extreme Abstinence,' you might still be asking yourself whether he died of abstinence (in this case, from 'animal food' not liquor) or despite his abstinence. A question we ponder over the many people whom we knew who have died, despite their vegan lifestyles. Good. Item #H3956
