Hardcover. 12 x 9 inches, half leather, good with wear, rubbing and loss to leather, inner hinges with some restoration just to keep the boards on. 480 & 618 pp, each issue around 50 pp., contents mainly very good, occasional stains and foxing, one page (p. 287) with some loss including a few words, and toward the end of the second volume can be seen some light dampstaining tide marks to upper outer corners. The first volumes of the journal of this famous western New York community, produced in nearby Meadville PA in Crawford County, with many ads from businesses in the town. In the second volume George Borrow's "Lavengro" is reprinted in installments. Good. Item #H40182
