Chicago: Chicago Tribune, 1914-1916. 7 issues of the 8 pp. color sections of the Chicago Sunday Tribune. These measure 23.5 x 18 inches and are in good or better condition with usual tanning and occasionally some light tears to folds or edges; we've repaired a few of the shorter tears with pH-neutral tissue tape. In 1917 the Tribune went to a smaller format for the color sections, but these larger ones are exciting finds. Each has stories, articles on entertaining subjects, cartoons and illustrations, mainly tinted or in colors. We have: Jan. 25, 1914. Cover: Which of these Young, Charming, Beautiful Actresses do you Look Like?" Inside: "Tricks of the Shoplifting Trade," "Europe's Little Royal Grafters," continuation of "The Adventures of Kathlyn" by Harold MacGrath with greentone illustrations, "Do You Go Wild over Dixie?" by Charles J. McGuirk, "Tempering Temperament" by Thomas T. Hoyne, rear cover with "The Three Bears" by Georgene Faulkner and "The Mother Goose Parade" by Anita de Campi. Feb. 8 1914: Cover -- The Perfect Man and Woman, How Nearly Are You One of Them? Inside: "My Word! But Farm Life is Beastly!" "Beauty in Duplicate," "The Adventures of Kathlyn" with illustrations in bluetone, "Violins Worth Many Times Their Weight in Gold," rear cover with Georgene Faulkner's "St. Valentine's Day" and "Mother Goose Parade" both illustrated by de Campi. Feb. 15, 1914. Cover: "This is the Famous Mona Lisa. Has She the Evil Eye?" Inside: "The Most Terrible Ships Afloat," "Charming Doubles," "The Adventures of Kathlyn," "The Future American Mother" (about various European immigrants coming to America) "Davy Jones' Locker on Land," rear cover with Faulkner's "Our American Knight" and "Mother Goose Parade" illustrated by de Campi. The two issues we have from 1916 are only 4 pp. December 17, 1916 has cover reproduction of a painting by Willem Geets with commentary by Louise James Bargelt.
