Mount Gretna's Rain Soaked Coats of Blue (Ca. 1899 memorial broadside for soldiers from PA 16th Volunteer Infantry who died in the Civil War and the Spanish American War)

Broadside on tan coated paper, ca. 1899, memorializing those who lost their lives in Civil War and Spanish American War battles in Cuba and Puerto Rico, who mainly served in the PA 16th Volunteer Infantry, with central poem composed by Lawson, flanked by images of the fallen soldiers and what looks to be a reunion of the PA 16th, with border of flags. Sheet measures 20 x 16 inches and is very good, quarter inch border all the way around darkened from previous presence in a wooden frame. One short (2 inch) edge tear has been neatly and archivally repaired. Uncommon, not in OCLC. The author of the poem is probably not the same Thomas W. Lawson who authored "Frenzied Finance." Very Good. Item #H4280

Price: $200.00
