Bound volume entitled 'Comicalities' with 9 satirical lithographs or prints from the 1820s

Hardcover. Small 8vo, bound in handsome ca. 1920s half morocco and marbled boards, bookplate of Ormond G. Smith, with bound in prints in the style of Rowlandson, plus a series of professions in which each 'bust' is composed of the tools of the specific trade. Also ca. 1820s or before, there were apparently 10 of these altogether, artist unknown. We have 'The Writer - L'Ecrivain' with an inkwell head and a pen nib nose, 'The Barber - Le Perruquier' with a straight-razor eyebrow and nose, 'Florist - La Bouquetiere' quite Archimboldo-esque, 'Musician - Le Musicien' with violin chin and mouth, and a number of other satirical lithographs with captions. Nice little assemblage. Very Good. Item #H4492
