Inscribed lovingly to his sister Jeanne Silvain and her husband Edmond Roze with a long note. Jean and Jeanne were the children of Louise and Eugene Silvain of the Comedie Francaise; Jean wrote a number of plays and novels, Jeanne was an actress and her husband Edmond Roze was a well known director, stage manager and author. The play is set in a Jesuit novitiate and examines questions of faith in the priesthood. A film of it was directed by Douglas Sirk. Very Good. Item #H4570
