Oblong quarto (14 x 10.5 inches) stiff paper covered boards, short text plus 47 photographic plates detailing the church, the house of the foundress of Tenrikyo, Osayama, and other buildings, interiors, courtyards, etc in the compound of the church, which was located in Tenri, east of Osaka. Very good plus, light soil to covers, in wraparound purple cloth slipcase with cloth stabs (some wear and discoloration). An early Showa Era production. Tenrikyo is one of the 'New Religions' of Japan, officially recognized in 1908 as one of the 13 sects of Shinto -- this is its central church. Very Good. Item #H7361
