Tall 8vo, dark blue cloth gilt, very good, light foxing to frontispiece. 94 pp. Very uncommon in the marketplace. The title poem was published in magazines and newspapers some years before this and received praise from Presidents Roosevelt and McKinley and Booker T. Washington, among others, and then was published as song lyrics with the help of John Philips Sousa. The author was born in 1857 in Bangor, ME, went to Exeter and then Harvard, then became a professional elecutionist and lecturer for a secret society called the Order of the Iron Hall. Very Good.
