1932 letter to Jerome Kern, sending him and Oscar Hammerstein the dancer Albertha Newman in response to their request for a blonde who could do a Balloon Dance

Dated Sept. 14, 1932 and on his stationary, Wayburn takes the liberty of sending one of his students, Albertha Newman of Cincinnati to Mr. Brill in Hammsterstein's employ, in response to Hammerstein's request for a blonde because "I believe that with a little coaching and encouragement, and the proper routine, she can do it - and look it!" Wayburn is widely credited for his inventive choreography and work with major actors, including Fred Astaire, Barbara Stanwyck, Clifton Webb, Mae West, Groucho Marx, June Allyson and Fanny Brice. By 1915 he was the main choreographer for the Ziegfield Follies. In later life he was a sought after teacher of theatrical dance. Item #H8410
