Hand-calligraphed folder of poetry by a Pittsburgher, ca. 1960s: Songs of Capricorn
Folder measures 13 inches tall, housing 13 bifoliae of calligraphed poems, we think done for one of Arnold Bank's advanced classes in calligraphy that he taught at Carnegie Tech (CMU). Good with some stains to front label and quite a bit of foxing to first and last of the poems, less so to the rest of the poems, but each with some minor degree of foxing; done on parchment style paper, the poems are pretty good, some rhyming, all very evocative. The last poem, "Pittsburgh as Paper-weight," makes it evident that the author is local; beyond that we don't know much. Unsigned. Item #H8699
