Old 8x10 photos--moving entire ore conveyer bridge, Detroit 1915

Images are very good, light soil and handling. The M. A. Hanna & Co. bridge in Detroit was 240 ft. long, with towers 50 ft. high, and was moved in its entirety 400 ft. The Eichleay Company was founded in Pittsburgh in 1875 and is still under family ownership to this day: it was a structural moving company, moving houses, buildings, etc., intact, from one location to another. It was a very successful business, and also became involved in the installation of large scale machinery and structures, including at the Hoover Dam from 1933-1936, at the Shippingsport PA nuclear plant in 1957 (the first nuclear plant in the US) and doing engineering and installation for several huge steel mills and cold mills into the 2000s. Provenance: duplicates from the Eichleay Company archives. Item #H8773

Price: $50.00
