First volume a Fifth Edition, 2nd and 3rd volumes "New Edition." The first volume has his essays on the poor: the poor in Bavaria, establishments for the poor, food and the feeding of the poor, plus his famous essay on chimney-pieces (illustrated) and other works related to Bavaria and Munich. The second volume has more physics-related essays, On the Management of Fire and the Economy of Fuel, Of the Propagation of Heat in Fluids, and in Various Substances, etc. The third volume is almost solely concerned with heating: fireplaces, roasters, furnaces, of how to warm a room, boilers, stoves, cooking with heat, with steam, boiling, etc. Illustrated with plates.
