3 volumes of programs from Civic Light Opera of Pittsburgh 1947-1957, plus 1996 history of the CLO
Pittsburgh: University of Pittsburgh Press, 1996. First printing. 3 quarto cloth-bound volumes of programs from the first ten years of the CLO, by no means a complete set of the first years' productions (it skips from one production in 1947 of Rosalie to 1949's Naughty Marietta with nary a single 1948 souvenir program in between) but all such programs from this early period (the CLO officially started in 1947) are rare. Each souvenir program is 16-24 pp with program notes, pictures and bios of the actors-singers, advertisements, etc. Some wear and soil: good to very good. The book by Mary Brignano gives a history of the CLO up to 1996, including a list of each year's productions. From the collection of Gerald Dantry, a long-time pianist with the CLO.
