Framed and under glass, visible image measures 9.75 x 7 inches (25 x 18 cm), signed lower right J. Burgess. Not examined outside of frame. The ruins of the church are a few miles from Killarney and overlook the lakes of Killarney in County Kerry. Seen in the foreground is part of the burial ground, where it was estimated 2,000 workhouse famine victims were buried between 1846-49. Burgess resided in Carrickfergus, County Antrim in northern Ireland and had a drawing and painting academy in Belfast for a time. Provenance: collection of Rolf and Magda Loeber. Very Good.
