NP: Ca. 1950s. On sheet of thick rag stock measuring 15.5 x 13 inches, professionally matted (20 x 16"), print is very good but with small old yellowing tape at the corners. Signed and titled in pencil. Francis Adams Comstock (1897-1981) was a longtime teacher of architecture at Yale, Director of the Newport Rhode Island Preservation Foundation, and the author of two important monographs on the aristsThomas Nason and F. L. Griggs. He was also a well-known artist in his own right, and his work reflects both his architectural background and his fascination with the Cotswolds in England. There was a major exhibition of his work at the Newport Rhode Island art museum in 1999. Very good. Item #h42766
