Large 1890s photo of Pennsylvania waterfall
Mount Pleasant Mills, PA: Acme View Company, Ca. 1890s. Photo itself measures 9.5 x 7.25 inches, mounted on 12x10" stiff card stock with decorative border, photo itself in very good condition, mounting page is good at best with chipping to edges, short tears, stains and toning, verso somewhat tanned and discolored. Shows what we think is a central or western Pennsylvania waterfall -- there's many candidates and it reminds us of ones we've seen in Dunbar (Fayette County), but it could just as easily be in central Pennsylvania -- like the one at Ricketts Glen State Park. Perhaps someone looking at this listing will be able to identify it. The Acme View Company was located in Mount Pleasant Mills (central PA), but we don't think the waterfall was around there. Good.
