Dark red papercovered boards in matching dust jacket, book about very good, some rubbing and wear to edges of covers and to spine ends, toning and tanning to rear cover, front outer joint beginning to show faint crack-lines; jacket good or better, some rubbing and light wear to edges of jacket and along joints, spine just a touch faded, rear panel of jacket with some soil, darkening and a few very short edge tears. Altogether a better copy than usual of this particularly fragile book. Early book contribution by John Berryman, prior to his first book, and contributions by Kenneth Patchen, Eleanor Clark, Charles Henri Ford, Montagu O'Reilly, Lewis Zukofsky, Dylan Thomas, Archibald MacLeish, William Saroyan, Paul Eluard, Ezra Pound, Delmore Schwartz, a section on new directions in modern design edited by Edgar Kaufmann Jr., and much else.
