Philadelphia: Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs, 1941. Wraps. 12.75 x 9.5 inches, softcover, very good, light wear and surface abrasions, 40-50 pp, lots of photos including 4 pp in color, with articles on America's preparedness for war, including looks at natural resources, various industries and manufacturing aspects, readiness of people, labor, energy, etc. The magazine lasted from 1941 to 1945. A U.S. government history of the Office of the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs (CIAA; later OIAA) describes En Guardia as an agency magazine used alongside radio, features, photos, pamphlets, etc., to counter Axis propaganda and promote the U.S. war effort -- this issue came out well before US entrance into WWII, however
. Many of the photos are striking and remind us of the work of Margaret Bourke White, but no photos are credited. Very good. Item #h44540
