Hardcover. 8vo, 9.5 inches tall, flexible brown cloth leatherette, very good, some waterstains, tanning and light taping to title page, ownership signature (twice) of Glenn W. Ruebush, who served during WWI as a First Lieutenant in the 3rd Division, 6th Infantry Brigade, 30th Infantry Regiment. Ruebush has also tipped in some orders and memo's from 1918-1919: a copy of an order from Nov. 15, 1918 on sea-green paper transferring him and some others to the 3rd Division; another carbon of an order on 19 November assigning Ruebush to Company A; a short slip from Feb. 1919 signed by R. L. Holbrook, commanding captain of the 50th Infantry, giving Ruebush permission to be absent from his company to visit Mayen (Germany, west of Koblenz), and at the back of the book, a memo dated Feb. 26, 1919 signed by H. R. Perry, the commanding officer of the 30th Infantry, reprimanding Ruebush for his failure to conform to the drill schedule, and with Ruebush's long, handwritten defense on the verso and a portion of the recto, plus another document giving him and several others permission to go to a Winchester UK "rest camp." Book is 123 pp, and map pocket contains 6 large folding maps. Book is rare in the trade. Ruebush, who was from Virginia, returned there and became a fairly prominent attorney and Republican who occasional ran for public office. Very good. Item #h44887
