Le Crepuscule Illumine (1963) signed. Poems in Monegasque

1963. First printing. Wraps. Large 8vo, softcover, very good, light surface soil to covers. Inscribed by author to Marika Dudley. 144 pp. Bosio was a “poetesse Monegasque,” a minority in Monaco who speak a language related to Ligurian, a Gallo-Italian dialect. The person to whom the book is inscribed, Marika Dudley, was married to an American architect, William Perry Dudley, who acquired a castle in Montbazon (just south of Tours) and spent much of his life restoring it; his personal life was complicated — he was married at least twice and had multiple affairs. In 1965, in the process of getting divorced from Marika, in Exeter NH (his home town) he shot Marika several times — not fatally — and then committed suicide. The book is very rare in the trade and hardly any copies in institutions. It seems to us that the poems are in French and not Monegasque, but we’re no experts! Very Good. Item #s00019764
