30 “Esky” 1940-44 pin-up girl postcards by Vargas, Hurrell & Waxman for Esquire
Chicago: Esquire, 1943. 30 large format color postcards published by Esquire, 1940-44, by Alberto Vargas (also known as Varga), George Hurrell, and Henry Waxman. Very good, light occasional soil and smudges, smudges, but unused. We have: “The Varga Girl” Set 1, cards 1-6 and Set 7, cards 1-6; “Hurrell Girls” Set 8, cards 1-6 (showing Lynn Bari, Susan Hayward, Ann Miller, Rebel Randall, Linda Darnell, and Dorothy Kelly, plus a random card by Hurrell (Set 3, card 2, not identified); “Waxman Girls” Set 9, cards 1-6, plus a dog image by Waxman, a cartoon postcard by George Wolfe, a pinup postcard of three women in the service, probably by Vargas, and “Mallards at Sunrise” by Walter E. Bohl. All but one are identified as “Esky-Card.”. Very Good. Item #z012704
