Pittsburgh: Hubbard's Views et al. ca. 1930s. Lot of 46 real photo postcards of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania, ca. 1930s. Most postcards of the devastating St. Patrick's Day flood of 1936, where river levels reached 46 feet and destroyed houses, businesses, and steel mills, putting thousands of steel workers out of work. Includes many images of flooding along the towns NE of Pittsburgh along the Allegheny River: around Cheswick, West Apollo, Sharpsburg, Tarentum, Harmarville, Springdale, and other towns along the rivers, washed out buildings, mills, dams, and power stations, plus two of skiing in the Laurel Mountains, one of Jersey Shore, PA, and one of the city and the Golden Triangle in 1935. Each card measures 6 by 4 inches, all but two blank. Very good. Edges of flood postcards curled, extremities toned, else bright and unmarked. Very Good. Item #z013090
