Softcover 8vo, 334pp. This copy is SIGNED/INSCRIBED by the author, Charles-Roux, to friend and colleague Georges Lecomte (9 July 1867 - 27 August 1958), French novelist and playwright, who also wrote literary, historical and artistic studies. Lecomte was born in Mâcon, Saône-et-Loire. In 1924 he was elected to the Académie française, of which he became perpetual secretary in 1946. He was also director of the École Estienne. Generally in VG- condition with age mellowing to covers, wear to the spine ends, and general shelfwear, nudging to edges. Lecomte's pencil underlining appears sporadically throughout the text, which is otherwise clean. A delightful association copy. Very Good. Item #z02286
