Allentown, PA: Charles Hanna, 1960. First printing. Paperback. First and only printing, 1960. 8vo, 30pp. Silkscreened covers, staplebound with mimeographed contents. In near fine condition with light shelfwear soil to wrappers. First book appearance of celebrated author Frederick Busch (1941-2006), who went on to publish over twenty volumes of prose, and was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, the PEN/Faulkner Award, among others. This is also the first publication by Charles Hanna (b. 1934), who soon after this volume published the Damascus Road Press (active until 1982), a progressive small press, noted in the correspondence of Denise Levertov and William Carlos Williams (p. 110). A collection of young poets, mostly recent graduates of Muhlenberg College, with introduction by Dr. W. Kinter, head of the Poetry Workshop at Muhlenberg, and who is also mentioned in the Levertov-Williams correspondence. Very scarce.
