Lot of 15 comedic stereographic cards showing two men spying on a woman at the shore, ca. 1920

Lot of 15 stereograph cards (3.5 x 7 inches) telling the story of two men spying on a beauty at the shore and purloining her "sheep dip". In the series, two rather ragged looking men are eating apples behind a rock when a young lady approaches carrying a jug labeled "sheep dip". The pair are obviously spotted by the girl, who undresses to her bathing suit and commences a series of stretches by the sea. As she stretches, one of the men crawls out from the rock to take the "sheep dip", which he must assume is some kind of liquor. The two men each pour a glass and cheers, but are instantly disgusted and ill from the substance. One of the men attempts to chase after the girl, but she is already gone. The cards are all in very good condition with a very slight curve and light edgewear. No large scratches or blemishes on the photographs. One of the cards is marked on the verso, "hooch hounds", but the set is otherwise unmarked by either the publisher or a previous owner. A charming and humorous narrative set. Very Good. Item #z06674
