New Kensington, PA: Zaff Studio/ Strauch Studios, et al. 1910s-1940s. other. 20 photographs, dated 1910s-40s, from the priesthood of Polish/ Ukranian American Michael A. Kowal, Reverend at Saint Mary's Church in New Kensington, Pennsylvania (18 miles Northeast of Pittsburgh, in Westmoreland County). The photographs feature Kowal in his various priestly vestments, in formal shots with family members and alone, portraits of the Kowal family, and group snapshots of St. Mary's Church parishioners and choir girls. Includes a color portrait of Kowal in an elaborate gilt frame with conclave glass, measuring 12 by 18 inches. The photos are in very good condition and housed in folding clamshell boards, save for two loose ones, many of which bear the mark of Zaff Studio and Strauch Studio, New Kensington photographers.
